Frankie Gavin
What can you write that has not been written about Frankie Gavin already. The founder of Irish traditional music group legends, De Dannan, Frankie remains one of the finest if not the finest violinist in Irish music or any music genre for that matter. Known by his friends within Irish music as “God”, he processes a rare talent not only as a fiddle player but also as a flute player which you can hear in this session. On this show Frankie really is at his best and is joined by fellow musician and friend Rick Epping, another regular contributor to the show.
Sean Keane
One of Ireland’s most popular traditional and contemporary singers, Sean Keane comes from a famous Irish singing family. Sean has many quality albums to his credit and remains one of the most popular artists on the international touring circuit. In this special show Sean’s rendition of the classic Irish song Isle Of Hope is particular moving and his flute playing skills are also on show as he jams with the house band
Michelle Lally
A very fine singer from Co Galway Michelle beautiful voice is a rare treat and she is fast becoming one of Ireland’s emerging talents. Hear Michelle’s great very version of the Booine Bonnie Broom.
The Jam
The show ends as always with a great high energy piece featuring the house band Dervish and all of the guest musicians on the show playing a selection picked just minutes earlier in which everyone contributes in their own unique way.
