Matt Molloy
What can you say about this iconic traditional master musician, who is the flute player’s flute player. A member of top Irish band the Chieftains, Matt was one of the founder members of the trailblazing supergroup of the 1970s, The Bothy Band, He is probably the most respected musician playing Irish traditional music today and we were truly honored to have him on the show.
John Carty
John Carty is a well respected figure within traditional Irish music circles. He play’s the Sligo style of traditional music and with Matt Molloy they form one of the great duets in Irish traditional music. Listeners are in for a special treat on this one
Tommy Sands
From the beautiful Rostrevor Co Down, Tommy made his name with his family group the Sands family in the 1970’s. A talented singer songwriter, whose songs have been widely recorded internationally Tommy sings songs from the heart and from his homeland. He sings about life, love with a humorous edge and all with a distinctly Irish fell that will leave a lasting impression.
The Jam
The show ends as always with a great high energy piece featuring the house band Dervish and all of the guest musicians on the show playing a selection picked just minutes earlier in which everyone contributes in their own unique way.
